How much does it cost to buy a domain on NameSilo marketplace?

For a Buy Now listing the price shown is what you pay for the name. The marketplace fees NameSilo publishes sit with the seller. Here is where the money goes:

A low commission is good news for buyers in one way: sellers who only give up 7.5% have less reason to pad the price than sellers on a marketplace taking 20% or more. Does NameSilo marketplace offer payment plans?

Yes, when the seller enables them. NameSilo added payment plans to its marketplace in 2017. As announced, the seller sets a term of 1 to 12 months and a down payment, and the buyer pays the rest in monthly installments. While the plan runs, the domain cannot be transferred to another registrar or another NameSilo account until the final payment is made.

The clause that matters most is the default rule. If the buyer misses a payment and does not pay within the deadline, the domain goes back to the seller and the seller keeps the commissions already earned. In plain terms, you can pay most of the price and still lose the name. A plan is fine if the cash flow is certain. If it is not, a cheaper name you can own outright is usually the safer choice.

How long does a NameSilo marketplace purchase take?

NameSilo's own marketplace FAQ says an internal push between two NameSilo accounts is usually completed within one to two business days after payment confirmation. Until that push happens, the seller remains the legal registrant, so do not point DNS or print anything with the name until it shows in your account.

If you then want the domain at another registrar, that is a normal inter-registrar transfer with its own verification emails and waiting periods, which NameSilo describes as taking several days or more. Plan for that if you are buying close to a launch.

What you can and cannot find on NameSilo marketplace

This is the limit most buyers miss. NameSilo only lets sellers list names registered at NameSilo, so the marketplace is a slice of the aftermarket, not all of it. A name you saw on a parked page elsewhere will not appear there unless its owner happens to use NameSilo. NameSilo also says plainly that it will not help you acquire a name that is not listed, so for anything outside the marketplace you are contacting the owner yourself.

When NameSilo is the better place to buy

If you already keep your domains at NameSilo, buying there is hard to beat on friction. The name lands in the account you already use, renewals stay on one bill, and the low commission keeps some listings cheaper than the same name elsewhere. For names under a few hundred dollars, and for investors buying in bulk, it is a sensible place to shop.
