Epik Domains Marketplace Alternative With Priced Names
The Epik marketplace sells names listed by other Epik customers, and its own terms say Epik is neither an auctioneer nor an escrow agent. If you want a brandable name with the price on the card, paid once and delivered to your own registrar, our brandable domains are a portfolio we own outright.
546 priced names in stock: 225 .com, 262 .ai, 40 .io. 123 under $1,000. Paid at a secure checkout and sold outright.
Search priced names
Type a word, an industry or a sound you like. Every result shows a buy-now price.
The short answer: the Epik marketplace is a real listing board run by an ICANN-accredited registrar, owned since June 2023 by Epik LLC. Buying there means opening an Epik account, accepting a 60 day lock on the name, getting no warranty on how long the registration has left, and, on a lease or financing plan, losing the name the day a payment is missed. If you want a curated .com, .ai or .io you pay for once and move wherever you like, a priced portfolio like ours is the simpler buy.
13 payments made. The name is still not yours and sits under a registrar lock.
Payment 14 is late. Under section 1 of the agreement, all rights end immediately.
The name can be resold or re-leased to someone else. Nothing in the agreement returns what you paid.
What an Epik Lease or Financing Plan Actually Commits You To
Epik sellers can offer a Buy Now price, a Make Offer button and monthly plans built from 14 premade financing, rental and option templates. The monthly price is what draws people in. The contract behind it is the Epik Domain Rental/Purchase Agreement, which you accept with one click at checkout.
Three clauses matter. You do not own the domain until the plan is paid off. Epik places a registrar lock on it for the whole term. And if you fail to pay any scheduled payment when due, all your rights end immediately and the name may be sold or leased to another party without further obligation to you. You also agree not to file a trademark on the name while you lease it.

When a Priced Portfolio Beats an Open Listing Board
You keep your domains somewhere else. Buying on Epik means an Epik account and a 60 day wait before you can move the name to the registrar where your other domains, DNS and email live. Our names are delivered to your own registrar.
You were tempted by a monthly plan. A lease can be the right tool, but only if every payment will clear for two or three years. If you would rather own the name on day one, our domains under $1,000 are often cheaper than a year of installments. Our domain leasing page compares the two in dollars.
You want .ai or .io and a shortlist, not a haystack. We hold 262 .ai and 40 .io names, all hand-picked and priced. AI founders usually start with our .ai domains for sale.
Four Checks Before Buying a Name on Epik
Look up the expiry date
The Marketplace Terms say you get whatever is left on the seller's term and Epik makes no promise about it. Check WHOIS and budget a renewal if it is close.
Search the trademark register
Epik transfers names without any warranty that they do not infringe someone else's rights. A USPTO search costs nothing and takes ten minutes.
Add up the plan, not the payment
Multiply the monthly figure by the term and compare it with the Buy Now price. Then ask yourself whether every payment will clear on time.
Price two alternatives
Line up two other priced options before you commit. Our guide to premium domain cost shows what each price band actually buys.
Where the Epik Marketplace Is the Better Choice
Choice and flexibility. Epik's board holds far more names than any single portfolio, and its sellers can mix Buy Now, offers, financing, rental and purchase options on the same listing. If a monthly plan is the only way the budget works, Epik gives you that option and we do not.
It also runs expired name auctions, where a name can go for much less than an aftermarket price. Read that clause carefully though: the original owner can still renew during the post-expiration period, payment is due within 48 hours of the auction closing, and completed expired auction sales are final and non-refundable.
If your domains already live at Epik, the 60 day lock costs you nothing. And Epik's About page says major extensions renew at the price they register for, which is a fair promise for a registrar to make. If the name you want is on another platform, our buyer pages for Sav, Porkbun and Afternic compare them the same way, and our Epik marketplace review covers the company's history and every buyer clause.
Epik Marketplace Buyer FAQ
Is Epik legit?
Yes. Epik is an ICANN-accredited registrar run since June 2023 by Epik LLC, a Wyoming company that bought the registrar and hosting business from the old Epik Holdings. Its own About page calls the old company a sinking ship and admits the name carries baggage. The marketplace works, but its terms put most of the risk on the buyer.
Who owns Epik now?
Epik LLC of Sheridan, Wyoming, which bought the registrar and hosting business in June 2023 in a deal Domain Name Wire reported at $4.9 million. Wikipedia lists Registered Agents Inc. as the parent. The payments business Masterbucks was excluded from that sale.
Is Epik an escrow service?
No. Section 1 of the Epik Marketplace Terms says Epik is not an auctioneer or an escrow agent. Payment goes to Epik, the name moves from the seller's Epik account to yours, and Epik keeps the right to reverse a sale in case of dispute, fraud or error.
How does Epik lease to own work?
You sign the Epik Domain Rental/Purchase Agreement and pay monthly. You do not own the name until the plan is paid off, it sits under a registrar lock, and if you miss any scheduled payment all your rights end at once and Epik may resell or re-lease the name with no further obligation to you.
What is a good alternative to the Epik marketplace?
If you want a short brandable .com, .ai or .io with the price on the card, paid once and moved to the registrar you already use, a curated portfolio is simpler. BoldDomains sells its own 546 priced names, 123 of them under $1,000, with buy now or make an offer on every name. See the full domain marketplace.
